Training: Areas of Curriculum

The emphasis at Ucan across the curriculum is to “Developing Individuals for Work and Life”. Depending on the personal circumstances of the individual there may well be a stronger focus initially on one rather than the other. Whilst the former focuses on enabling individuals to gain the necessary skills and expertise to increase their employability, the latter focuses on helping individuals to secure a more independent life.

When joining Ucan, individuals will meet with one of the team to discuss their own specific requirements in order that a programme can be put together that will meet their individual needs and personal goals. This programme is reviewed every ten weeks by the team and importantly with the individual trainee. Individuals will get access to the following curriculum areas:

Support

Throughout your time with us you will be offered dedicated support from one of our trainers to help you identify and achieve your key personal outcomes. Furthermore, our Support Worker will also be on hand to support you throughout the Ucan day with any concerns or issues you may have. Whether it may help with your reading and/or writing or your general welfare.
